Ericka Ledferd is passionate about public service. She developed this passion and an early interest in politics and interdisciplinary studies while traveling across South America in her youth.

At 17, she immigrated to the United States from Buenos Aires, Argentina. As a naturalized American citizen, she will tell you that her civic responsibilities have become more critical than ever in our current atmosphere. Ericka feels called upon to do her part to uphold and build upon American values. She exemplifies the idea of the American Dream by becoming successful in life due to her earnest hard work.

Ericka believes in public education because she is a product of the Texas educational system. She received her Bachelors of Science in Political Science and a minor in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University-Commerce in 2003. After graduating, Ericka worked for TRIO Programs at Southern Methodist University and later for the Foreign Language Program at Texas A&M University-Commerce. While there, she continued her studies and obtained her Master’s Degree in Spanish Literature in 2006. For 12 years, Ericka worked as an educator at Royse City ISD and directed the Royse City High School ESL Program. In addition, she owns a business, Ledferd PR, a public relations agency specializing in nonprofit public relations, public affairs, public relations, and digital marketing.

Ericka and her husband David have been married for 24 years, and she counts him as one of her most incredible supporters. They have three beautiful children. One in college, working on her BFA at The American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA), and two of them attending school in Royse City ISD, where the family has resided for the last 16 years.

For Ericka, the pursuit of goodness, kindness, and honesty encompass the pursuits for public service and provide for the will and best interest of all Rockwall County Precinct 4 residents.
